Meet Michelle"Michelle Gigante is an embodiment of yogic wisdom, a master teacher.” - Govindas, Director Bhakti Yoga Shala, Santa Monica Ca Michelle Gigante has been guiding people toward energetic openings and spiritual awakenings for three decades. She uses her intuitive gift to read the room and create a vibe that can transcend both the individual and the group. Steeped in the Bhakti tradition, she daily devotes herself to a heart consciousness practice. Often know as a teachers’ teacher her wisdom is respected throughout the conscious community. Her independent spirit fostered the opening of Shakti Yoga in 2007. She dedicates her energy and knowledge to welcoming people into Shakti’s nurturing home, to promote healing and inspire creativity. Michelle’s background in theatre gives her the skill to execute a class with clarity and precision. Her many years as a dancer allows her to “choreograph” sequences that are creative and playful. Her experience as a Reiki III healing master and Qi Qong practitioner gives her the insight to effectively choose postures that open energy channels. All sessions with Michelle are spontaneous and offer lessons to live by, both on and off the mat. A typical class with Michelle gives students a chance to meet themselves and the moment in a loving and truthful way. The cultivation and concentration of breath-work provided by Michelle’s steady pace and seamless cueing, encourages a natural rhythmic flow of an holistic experience. Michelle always reminds her students that there is no where that they need to be, other than here now. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace and be in their own bodies. Drawing from the group’s collective energy while guiding individuals on their personal path is Michelle’s joy. Holding space for community to raise consciousness is her passion. Assisting people let go into the flow is her calling. Michelle considers the practice of yoga to be a humble and honest joining to the here and now. She is available for private healing sessions. |

I love playing for Michelle's yoga classes both Yin and Flow. Her teaching is like a subtle dance that anchors one deep into the present moment. To play for her is like playing for a Yogic poet.
